How is your curriculum?

我們的課程參考了教育局2017年課程指引。課程使小朋友在各個學習階段環環相扣。著重培養小朋友獨立工作及合作的技巧和能力,以及邏輯思考能力。 英語是我們第二的教學語言。我們期望小朋友在中、英文聽說、讀、寫方面能夠運用自如。

Our courses refer to the EDB 2017 Curriculum Guidelines. Our curriculum keeps children in touch during every stage of study. Focus on cultivating children's skills and abilities for independent work and cooperation, and logical thinking skills.
English is our second language of instruction. We expect that children are able to use Chinese and English listening skills, as well as reading and writing freely

What are the features of your curriculum?

在教學內容和教學目標上,我們著重讓小朋友達到「全人發展」的目標。
老師秉持以小朋友為中心的理念,不斷地觀察他們的學習發展,給予適當的鷹架,讓小朋友能逐漸提升自己的能力與深化自己的學習內涵。

In terms of teaching content and teaching goals, we focus on making the children achieve the goal of “whole-person development”.
The teacher upholds the idea of centering on the children, constantly observes their learning and development, and gives proper scaffolds so that the children can gradually improve their abilities and deepen their own learning connotations.

你們的教學方式?

 

What is your teaching approach?

我們的教學方式以小組教學為主,小朋友不會一直在同一學習區或全班一起進行同一活動。
老師透過興趣區活動,觀察小朋友發展情況,給予鷹架及協助他們的個別發展。

Our teaching methods are mainly group teaching. Children do not always perform the same activities together in the same learning area or in the whole class.
Through the activities in the area of interest, the teacher observes the development of children, gives scaffolding and assists them in their individual development.

你們的中、英文的教學方式?

 

 

 

What is your Chinese and English teaching methods?

我們主要以主題相關的中英文故事、兒歌及歌曲為教材,讓小朋友有意義地累積「字彙」和「句型」。
在英語拼音方面,參考語常會建議,編定拼音課程。
在3-4歲班,讓小朋友辨別26個字母的字型與字音的關係,外藉老師以歌曲及設計各類富趣味性的拼音活動鞏固所學。
在4-5歲班,小朋友開始聆聽,辨認不同語音。
在5-6歲班,小朋友開始拼讀不同字詞,並運用拼讀技巧閱讀簡單字詞及句子。


We use Chinese and English stories, songs and rhymes as our teacher materials in order to develop children’s vocabulary and sentences.
We develop our phonics curriculum according to the suggestion from SCOLAR.
In the 3-4-year-old class, we would like to let the children identify the form and shape of the 26-characters and awareness of their letter sound. English teachers consolidate what they learned by using songs and designing various kinds of interesting pinyin activities.
In the 4-5 years old class, children begin to listen and identify different letter sounds.
In the 5-6-year-old class, children begin to spell different words and use spelling techniques to read simple words and sentences.

你們每班小朋友比例?

What is the ratio of your children in each class?

我們致力保持比教育局低的師生比例。師生比例以學校老師的人數及小朋友計算,當中包括中、外老師。

We are committed to maintaining a lower teacher-student ratio than the Education Bureau. Our teacher-student ratio is calculated based on the number of school teachers and children, including Chinese and foreign teachers.

你們是否雙班主任制?

How do your class teachers work?

我們為雙班主任制,在照顧及教學上,兩位班主任共同討論、處理班中的各項事情。

We have two teachers in each class. In terms of caring and teaching, the two class teachers would discuss and handle various matters in their class.

How about the amount of homework for your children?

 

K1級:沒有正式功課。親子資料搜集、寫前練習、視辦練習
K2級:學習基本寫字技巧。親子資料搜集、語文樂
K3級:書寫詞語、句子、歡樂假期周記、親子資料搜集、 新聞分享、語文樂


K1 : There is no formal homework. There are some activities, such as Parent-child information collection, pre-writing exercises, Chinese Fun exercise
K2: Learn basic writing skills. Parent-child information collection, Chinese Fun exercise
K3: Writing words, sentences, Happy Holidays week books, parent-child information collection,news sharing, Chinese Fun exercise

開學初時,你們怎樣幫助小朋友面對分離的焦慮?

 

At the beginning of the school year, how can you help children to face separation anxiety?

老師明白「分離」帶給小朋友恐慌和壓力,對於適應力較差和學習速率較慢的小朋友,我們不單要體會其感受,更要給予耐心及時間。
老師會撫摸小朋友的背、抱一抱或說一些讚美的說話等,讓小朋友感受到老師的關心。還會鼓勵小朋友投入校園活動,或與同伴建立人際關係。老師與家長經常保持聯繫,以幫助小朋友度過這個適應時間。

Teachers understand that the “separation” brings pressure on our children. For children with poor adaptability and slow learning speed, we need to be patient and give time in addition to our experience.
Teachers and parents often maintain close contact to help children better spend this adaptation time.

怎麼才知道小朋友的學習內容?

 

How do we know the  child’s learning content?

每主題開始時派發「學習通訊」,內容包括該主題的學習生活及相關內容。 每主題完畢後會上載「我們的學習歷程」於學校網頁上,家長溜覽網頁後便可得知小朋友的學習過程及情況。


The Newsletter is distributed at the beginning of each theme, including the learning process and related content of the theme.
After each topic is completed, "Our Learning Profile” will be uploaded on the school website. Parents will be able to know the learning process and conditions of the children after they browse our webpage.

校園蚊蟲多,你們是否有因應的措施?

 

There are many mosquitoes on campus. Do you have any appropriate measures?

我們的校園及四周環境花草樹木多,隨時聽到蟲鳴鳥叫,看到綠色的植物,在自然生態的環境下當然存
有蚊蟲。我們定期進行清潔消毒、理花盆底積水、將溝渠的積水經適當處理後排放到雨水渠、確保貯水容器,貯水箱蓋密、保持溝渠暢通、裝置滅蚊燈、在適當位置施用滅蚊油。

Our campus and surrounding environment has many flowers and trees. We can hear insects and birds at any time and see green plants. Naturally there are mosquitoes in this natural environment.
We regularly clean and disinfect, drain water at the bottom of flower pots, discharge the water from the ditch to storm drains after appropriate treatment, inspect the quality and tightness of the storage tanks, keep the channels open, install mosquito killing devices, and apply insecticide oil in place.

你們如何進行「幼小銜接」?

 


How do you carry out the bridging class for K3 students?

每年安排K3級小朋友參觀小學,讓他們熟悉小學的校園設施與學習環>br>境。每年從6月份開始安排模擬小學的上課模式。小朋友需坐在固定椅子上學習,上課時間為25分鐘為一課節。透過模擬小學的課本,讓小朋友慢慢從整合學習中,適應以分科形式學習。


Each year, children at the K3 level are arranged to visit primary schools to familiarize them with the campus facilities and learning environment in primary schools.
Every year, starting from June, the preparation for primary school will be arranged. Children will have different classroom setting. By using the textbooks in primary schools, the children are slowly learning from integrated learning and adapting to learning in the form of divisions.

你們的畢業生升讀哪些小學?

 

Which elementary schools are your graduates going to?

我們的畢業生升讀區內、區外的津貼、直資小學或私立小學,包括瑪利諾神父教會學校、大坑東宣道小學、聖方濟愛德小學、中華基督教會協和小學、啟基學校、拔萃小學、德雅小學。


Our graduates progress to subsidized, out-of-school or private primary schools in and outside the district.
Including: Maryknoll Father’s School, Alliance Primary School, Tai Hang Tung, St. Francis of Assisi’s Caritas School, C.C.C. Heep Who Primary School, Chan’s Creative School, Diocesan Preparatory School, Tak Nga Primary School.

你們有否為小朋友提供校車接載服務?


Which elementary schools are your graduates going to?

保姆車服務由家長教師會每年向家長發出問卷,根據問卷調查結果作出議決。
我們提供二至四問保姆車公司給家長選擇。
每輛校車均配備安全帶,並有一名跟車員當值。


The Nanny Car Service issues a questionnaire each year to the parents from the Parent-Teacher Association, and makes decisions based on the results of the questionnaire survey.
We provide two to four ask nanny car companies for parents to choose
.Each school bus is equipped with a safety belt and a taxi driver is on duty.

有。
我們的餐單請註冊營養師陳勇堅先生檢視,為小朋友提供營養豐富的午餐,菜單經過精心搭配,確保他們膳食均衡健康, 我們的廚師嚴格確保食物清潔衛生。


Yes.
For our menu, please check with registered dietician Mr. Chen Yong Jian to provide children with a nutritious lunch. The menu is carefully matched to ensure a balanced diet.Our chefs strictly ensure food hygiene.

家長可以怎樣協助孩子?


How can parents help their children?

家長的支持是培育小朋友非常重要的部分。所以我們鼓勵家長定期參加家長會,與老師多溝通,以便認識培育小朋友的方法。
我們定期舉行家長講座、工作坊,邀請家長參與學校活動,以促進親職教育。

Parental support is a very important part of nurturing children. Therefore, we encourage parents to regularly attend the parent conference and communicate more with the teachers in order to understand the ways to nurture children.
We regularly hold parents' talks and workshops and invite parents to participate in school activities to promote parenting education.
